Welcome to Kiddie Central!

Hello, and thank you in advance for taking time to get to know me. My name is Deborah McCarthy, Licensed Child Care Specialist at Kiddie City Family Childcare in Holden, Massachusetts. My family is very supportive of my child care business. I have played, cared, encouraged and taught over 70 children "like my own" since 1989. I strive to constantly make the child care environment better by attending courses of study in Early Childhood related topics regularly. I gently guide and encourage every child that comes into my home to feel good about themselves and be the best they can be by providing a variety of stimulating activities in a safe and motivating environment.

This is my chosen profession. I give each child careful guidance, plenty of time, and introduce them to life skills. I am one of your child's first teachers, not a "babysitter". As working parents, we have many of the same responsibilities. I understand the difficulties in balancing work, family, home and child care. With your cooperation, I will make the child care portion of your life run smoothly.

My experience includes consultant work with families seeking information concerning: Safety in a Child Care Setting, Interview Techniques with perspective licensed daycare providers and What to look for in Quality Child Care. I have presented on these and other topics at Child Care Symposiums and support groups in the New England area to child care professionals. In 2001, I produced and hosted an "Educational Child Care Forum" on the Wachusett Cable Network in Massachusetts with a distinguished panel including a Massachusetts State Licensor from the Office for Child Care Services, a representative from Child Care Resources, a licensed child care provider, and a parent with children in a home child care setting.
